Our Inspiration…Bailey

As a couple, we’ve always had a heart for marriages and to partner with Jesus to restore homes and invite couples into a journey of healing and restoration. We long to offer to others what we’ve received. Although whole and restored marriages are still of great importance to us, over the course of the past two years God has been creating a new and expanded desire in our hearts.  After the struggle in fighting for the heart of our daughter, Bailey, we feel led to create the space and help Bailey and our family has needed, but does not exist.

Bailey’s story is one of struggle and delight. She’s beautiful, creative, and has a huge heart for justice and helping others who are oppressed. There’s much to the background of her story that combines the need for physical healing, mental healing, and spiritual healing. The trauma in her story has played a major role in affecting all three of these areas. In some capacity or another we’ve been seeking and fighting for answers for her since she was a toddler.  You can read more about her story here: Where there is struggle, there is life.

Finding care Bailey needed that was both accessible and affordable has been extremely problematic. When it became evident that outpatient treatment was no longer an option, we were able to find a place that would accept our insurance and had the medical and therapeutic training we had hoped would help. To our disappointment, this treatment center proved to be too busy and too big. It was a safe space for her, but healing seemed unattainable. Our hearts longed for a space where medical, physical and mental health professionals could work in unity together with an understanding of the larger redemption story of Jesus. Our family needed a multidisciplinary team who were interested in Bailey’s whole story. The fragmentation of care we’ve received through the years has left us feeling unseen and unheard, with every provider focusing on symptoms at hand within their field and ignoring other big pieces of the picture. We were staring at trees and not able to navigate the forest.

Lori has 20 plus years of experience in physical therapy and specializes in pelvic and women’s health. In her practice she has to see the forest and the trees. Her patient population consists of both women and men, who among other things have dealt with sexual, physical and emotional trauma.  Her approach has always been to listen to a person’s story. Physical healing and emotional healing go hand in hand. My journey and experience over the past 10 plus years of healing prayer and deliverance have taught me there’s a spiritual contribution to this equation as well, and they’re all interconnected.

Bailey is our beloved daughter. The battle for her body, mind and spirit has been long and hard fought. We’re still fighting. She’s leaning in and working hard and we are so proud of her. Bailey is our inspiration to partner with Jesus and create the space she needed and doesn’t exist. A multidisciplinary clinic where each professional works in sync with a love for Jesus to partner with him to heal the body, mind and spirit for those who are hurting.

Revealed Image Ministries is the beginning of this vision with an initial focus on spiritual healing. We’re a faith based nonprofit organization who desires to sit with people in their pain, listen to their stories, and partner with Jesus in prayer for inner healing.
