Let Us Remember

This September 11th, let us remember the attacks on our country, the lives lost and the heartache for those who loved them, as well as the amazing courage of our first responders and service men and women.

Along with these, are many additional things we must remember.

  • Let us also remember the way we rallied together as one nation under God.
  • Let us remember it took a tragedy to bring us back to each other and back to God.
  • Let us remember how the nation rushed to donate blood.
  • Let us remember how quickly we rushed to purchase every American Flag in order to stand as one nation under freedom.
  • Let us remember that in this time of crisis, the color of one's skin had no meaning.
  • Let us remember the United States of America is only sustainable as a united people.
  • Let us remember unity does not exist in independence, but our independence as a nation is dependent upon each of us being unified as one people.
  • Let us remember that equality is not synonymous with same; we are all equal but not the same, and this is what makes us strong.
  • Let us remember that God created our souls in His image, either male or female. He breathed life into our bodies, no matter the gender or color, as a vessel for the image He placed within us. (Genesis 1:26-27)
  • Let us remember that Jesus is close to the brokenhearted. (Psalm 34:18)
  • Let us remember that He has come to bind the broken hearted and set the captive free and will comfort all who mourn. (Isaiah 61:1-3)
  • Let us remember that He will also make all things new. (Revelation 21:5)
  • Let us remember that the greatest commandment is to love God and the second is to love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:34-40)
  • Let us remember to choose love daily, so that tragedies like 9-11, Hurricane Harvey, or Hurricane Irma do not have to stand as our reminders.
  • Let us remember all of these, so our children will not only learn of a date in history, but will experience and know the love and acceptance of a unified nation whether in tragedy or in peace.
  • Let love be our reminder.
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails...
— 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
